Calcium aluminate powder (a raw material for water purification agents) has CaO, Al₂O₃, and Fe₂O₃ as its main components and exhibits strong reactivity. Producing water purification agents via a one-step acid-solubilization process can significantly save labor and electricity, substantially reduce costs, and offers advantages such as simple process equipment and ease of operation. It is an ideal raw material for the production of basic aluminum chloride and polyaluminum chloride products.
Calcium aluminate powder is a grayish-white powder. Its main components are a mixture of calcium dialuminate (CaO·2Al₂O₃) and calcium monaluminate (CaO·Al₂O₃). It is slightly soluble in water, and its aqueous solution is alkaline, with a pH value of approximately 11. Calcium aluminate powder exhibits high reactivity when reacted with strong inorganic acids, initiating the reaction even at room temperature. Moreover, it releases substantial heat and heats up rapidly; the dissolution rate of alumina can reach over 90%. Using this material as a raw ingredient to produce liquid or solid polyaluminum chloride can simplify the production process, reduce costs, and improve product quality. It is the raw material most widely adopted by polyaluminum chloride manufacturers both domestically and internationally.
