Calcium aluminate powder is an off-white powder whose main component is a mixture of calcium diacrylate (CaO 2A1203) and a calcium aluminate (CaO A1203). Slightly soluble in water, the aqueous solution is alkaline with a pH value of about 11. Calcium aluminate powder is mainly used in the production of aluminum salts such as polymeric aluminum chloride, aluminum sulfate and sodium aluminate. It can also be used to adjust the alkalinity and also used in refractory materials.

During the reaction, the temperature in the pool will gradually increase. When it exceeds 110, the right amount of water can be added to make the reaction not to overflow out of the pool. It is necessary to add a small amount of water in several times to maintain the normal required temperature. After adding calcium aluminate powder in use, the reaction is carried out for 2 hours. When the PH test paper is greater than 3, it can be diluted with water to a density of 1.25-1.

Molten calcium aluminate (pre-molten calcium aluminate slag) is mainly used in LF furnace, flat furnace, converter refining ladle to remove impurities such as sulfur and oxygen in steel and reduce the content of harmful elements and impurities in steel. Applicable to ordinary carbon steel, high carbon steel, high and low alloy steel. It has been used abroad, such as Korea, Japan, Europe and America and other developed countries.
