Calcium aluminate powder reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce polyaluminum chloride in a single step. Before starting production, first add water to the reaction tank and turn on the agitator. Then, add sulfuric acid in a quantified manner and dilute the solution to the specified concentration. Afterward, gradually add the calcium aluminate powder to initiate the reaction. During the reaction, the temperature inside the tank will gradually rise. When the temperature exceeds 11°C, add water appropriately to moderate the reaction and prevent it from becoming too vigorous and overflowing the tank. Add water in small amounts frequently to maintain the optimal reaction temperature. Once the calcium aluminate powder has been completely added and the reaction has continued for two hours, use pH test paper to verify that the pH has risen above 3. At this point, dilute the mixture with water to achieve a specific gravity of 1.25–1.26. The clear supernatant liquid obtained after settling in the sedimentation tank is the liquid product. Alternatively, the liquid can be dried in a dryer to obtain solid polyaluminum chloride.
